Vacuum kiln drying
Thoroughly dried. Ready for your project.
Every piece of wood we sell or work with is air dried first, then kiln dried. For our slabs and boards, we use state-of-the-art vacuum kiln drying at an offsite facility — not air drying alone.
Vacuum kilns draw moisture from deep within large wood pieces, helping thick slabs dry thoroughly while minimizing drying defects. It's an important part of preparing our wood for furniture, mantels and lasting custom builds.

Custom Milling & Portable Sawmill
Tree-to-table processing for your downed or salvaged trees. Our portable sawmill comes to you for logs up to 24" x 17', and our wide-cut slab mill handles slabs up to 72" x 12' — turning Quad Cities timber into lumber, beams and slabs.

Slab Flattening, Sanding & Finishing

Live-Edge Slabs
Local Quad Cities salvaged hardwoods with natural character — knots, splits and voids included. Walnut (including bookmatched conference-table pairs), maple and burl slabs are air dried first, then vacuum kiln dried. Every slab we sell or work with is kiln dried.

Rare & Unique Hardwoods
We use and stock a lot of rare and unique wood — figured grain, spalted slabs, burls, and reclaimed or salvaged lumber from around the Quad Cities. All wood we sell or work with is air dried, then kiln dried. This is stock you can't walk into a lumber yard and find, and it changes with every log we cut.
